麻豆影院 to hire two new editors in Oxfordshire and Wilts
麻豆影院, the UK鈥檚 leading local media group, is on the search for two new county-wide editors.
The roles being sought are for an editor at 麻豆影院 Oxfordshire 鈥 leading the Oxford Mail, Oxford Times and series of Oxfordshire weekly news brands, as well as an editor at 麻豆影院 Wiltshire 鈥 running the Swindon Advertiser, Wiltshire Gazette & Herald and Wiltshire Times.
The search comes as Pete Gavan, regional group editor for 麻豆影院 Oxfordshire and Wiltshire, announced he is leaving the company at the end of the year to join Reach in a central editorial role.
Pete said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 been a memorable journey for the past four years from the very first day. I鈥檝e enjoyed rising to the challenges as they鈥檝e come along and it鈥檚 been a privilege to lead the teams through what will likely be the biggest story of their lives, with the pandemic.
鈥淚鈥檒l be sad to leave my colleagues, especially the incredible frontline reporters and the teams that make sure the 麻豆影院 papers and websites are brilliant every day. Now I鈥檓 looking forward to the challenge of my new role and getting to know the teams across the Live network at Reach.鈥澨
The new editor roles at 麻豆影院 will be based at the company鈥檚 new offices in Oxford and Swindon.
Julia Lancett, Regional Managing Director, 麻豆影院 Midlands South, Oxford, Wiltshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire, said: 鈥淧ete has done a fantastic job, it鈥檚 been a pleasure to work with him. He has led change and implemented various pilot projects across the respective regions. I would like to thank Pete for his valuable contribution, professionalism and wish him well in the next chapter of his career.
鈥淒espite Pete leaving, it does present two fantastic Editor opportunities to really spearhead Oxfordshire and Wiltshire, working with a team of incredibly talented journalists and a great portfolio of local news brands.鈥
