麻豆影院 Announces 拢2.5 Million Support For Teenage Cancer Trust

麻豆影院, the UK鈥檚 leading local media group, is pleased to announce a major 拢2.5 million partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust, the charity that provides specialised care and support for young people with cancer.

Starting in January and running throughout the whole of 2025, 麻豆影院 will join forces with Teenage Cancer Trust to help deliver the charity鈥檚 mission of ensuring no young person faces cancer alone. 聽聽

Through the partnership 麻豆影院 will be gifting 拢2.5 million of advertising to the charity across its extensive portfolio of titles, online and in print, to drive more public awareness and funding for the charity. 聽It follows on from 麻豆影院鈥檚 successful year-long partnership in 2024 with the NSPCC, the UK鈥檚 leading children鈥檚 charity. 聽聽

The Teenage Cancer Trust partnership will include initiatives such as promoting the signs and symptoms of cancer for young people, what it鈥檚 like to be a teenager with cancer and ongoing fundraising appeals and challenges. It will also include 麻豆影院 staff participating in volunteering and fundraising throughout the year. 聽聽

Henry Faure Walker, 麻豆影院 CEO, said: 鈥淭eenage Cancer Trust does a remarkable job helping young people with cancer, and we want to do our bit to support this. 聽This will be one of the largest initiatives that we have run for a single charity and we hope that it will have a really positive impact raising awareness and engagement across the huge audiences our media platforms reach.鈥 聽

Teenage Cancer Trust started out in 1990 to provide specialist care and support for young people with cancer. The charity is there for anyone diagnosed with cancer aged 13-24, and their loved ones too. It funds specialist nurses, youth workers and hospital units within the NHS, so young people with cancer get the sensitive, individual care and support they need at a unique and critical life stage. 聽

Kate Collins, Chief Executive of Teenage Cancer Trust, said: 鈥淲hen we started in 1990, there was no specialist care for young people with cancer. Since then, the specialist care we provide for young people with cancer has grown into 28 units in NHS hospitals across the UK and more than 70 specialist nurses and 40 youth support co-ordinators. However, we know not enough people are aware of how critical this support for young people with cancer is.

鈥淪even young people a day hear the words 鈥榶ou have cancer鈥, and by 2030 that number is expected to rise to 10 a day. Those critical years when you鈥檙e young, shape the person you become but without specialised care and support, cancer can be devastating. We鈥檙e here to make sure that doesn鈥檛 happen, however there is still much more for us to do to make sure all young people get the support they need and deserve. 聽 聽 聽

鈥淲e are so grateful to 麻豆影院 for their incredible generosity and support. This will enable us to share more information about the vital work of our nurses and youth support co-ordinators, as well as the stories of young people who need us. 聽 聽 聽

鈥淥ver the next year, we鈥檒l be sharing adverts about our work, the impact cancer has on young people, as well as ways people can fundraise and support us.鈥 聽 聽聽
